Personal Power

October 19, 2010

If people could only see the benefit of giving their strength to God, they would; instead, what they believe they see is all the benefits to be derived from giving of themselves to something else. It’s why many people invest their “personal power” in earthly pursuits and pleasure, and why even those considered religious have creatively structured their own specialized relationship with God to include all the pet indulgences that go along with their investment. It explains why, for them, the power has gone out!

True spiritual power is the critical factor for personal power in everything we do; yet for many of God’s people, power for prayer and supernatural power to prevail over in things that are wrong have gone out like a light disconnected from the power source. Their personal power is small – very small.

If I give my strength—yield it, then on the altar of exchange I receive much more. As I honor and worship Him with “who I am,” I am confident to say, “Now unto Him that is able to keep me from falling, and to present me faultless before the presence of His glory with great joy, To the only wise God my Savior, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever.” Jude 1:24-25

Amen.

Carved Out

October 15, 2010

Destruction’s core reveals the unexpected. Amid the current oppression and misdeeds, and despite misinformation and absence of applied truth, don’t be misled; don’t believe loss, failure, and where is your God now? The answer—He is right there with you. He has a harvest of good things, ordained by the Lord though temporarily covered over. The Holy Spirit is leading you. Dig to the center and excavate the core. Go to the rock from which you were hewn. He has joined Himself with you so do not agree to separate what God has joined; refuse to be misled—refuse to believe that anything can separate you from His love.  Any difficulty able to separate us from Him must logically be greater than He—right? Actually—no; only for the un-renewed mind could that possibly be true. In truth, nothing is greater than His love for us and nothing can hold us. His determination to bring us out!! If this oppression you were legal in heaven it would be legal to operate against you here and now; but it is not legal there and cannot succeed against you here.

The Lord carves out each life—the Rock of His Presence is your portion.
He is for you – who can be against you?

Amen.

Listening In

October 14, 2010

I love the company of those who listen in on the Godhead the way Isaiah did, devoting their lives to what they’ve heard; having heard, they truly have something to say –few words and profound brevity. I love it! Isaiah 6:8

Jesus and the disciples spoke as those who had been educated, but were, in fact, not esteemed to be educated men. Evidently, what they conveyed could not be explained in common terms—those who “had been with Jesus” were uncommon. See—I love that, too! Acts 4:13

I love the company of modern disciples because when destiny is known and valued, elegance is the uncontrived benefit. It comes from inside where the Lord’s presence is supremely powerful and conveys as uncommon elegance. God’s strength within develops excellence in the details.

Many have been trained to live this way and now power mantles are arriving for a company that’s been hidden; the Lord stands in the midst of them, separating for distinction those who are on the His side.

Amen.

Dedication

October 13, 2010

Being dedicated to something or someone is part of the human capacity and dedication in a religious way is not only typical of the natural man but notable in the history of man. Unfortunately, a popular application of personal dedication today derives from Greek and Roman antiquity rather than the dedication demonstrated in the life of our Lord.

As the Son of God, our Lord set Himself apart (sanctified) unto the Father, and set the Father apart (hallowed) above all of creation as the Son’s only object of worship and dedication.

We should make the same distinction and teach our children accordingly: Almighty God is not just part of the universe but as Creator is set apart (above) the Creation. A lesser god or gods, common to pagan dedication, may be part tree, part animal, part angel, or part of the so-called human energy circle; but these are not Christian, and not Christianity’s Lord.

As Christians, we understand dedication to be a measure of deep conviction and preference. Our history is marked with demonstrations of allegiance to God.

Sadly, at times in our history, we have given allegiance to something other than God, as God – something usually of our own creation. Thankfully, He is merciful. Time after time He has pardoned individual and corporate preferences for things more pagan than Christian. He has pardoned our ignorance.

Today, decisively realign your life. Set the Lord before you. Dedicate your day and details of the day to Him. “No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man . . . He will make a way of escape.” 1 Corinthians 10:13

Amen.

Awakened Heart

October 12, 2010

The benchmark for faith among God’s people for these end-times is peace of heart and mind. The night season and approach of a new day figure prominently into the continual establishment of peace, a treasure to be mined by those who understand the value.

In Song of Solomon we read, “I sleep but my heart is awake.” God has ordered our lives in such a way that the longing of the heart advances in the night, opening the way for a fresh new day. Song of Solomon 5:2

God declares His mercy and compassions “are new [start all over again] every morning.” Isaiah too, emphasized this truth: “With my soul I have desired You in the night. Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek you early.” Isaiah 26:9

Every morning God punctuates darkness by unfolding light, commanding morning to come and  take hold of the ends of the earth on behalf of the covenant-minded; He has determined these covenant-minded ones be empowered with this same authority of command, entrusting them with a daily advance of that which He has placed, by faith, in the heart that is awake.

Amen.

Midnight Cry

October 11, 2010

Sometimes you need to judge the situation for what it is. Hopeful expectation is always the high ground but clear discernment is critical as well. Discernment will lead you to successful strategies for justice and a right solution—a righteous solution!

We need clear insight with courage to carry through. The challenge now is greater, as is the need for a steady eye and skillful interpretation. Things are not always what they seem and motives may be concealed. Step back. Look again. Enemies often reveal what friends cannot, and when all is uncovered, the accuser is vulnerable.

In bringing forth justice “time” is both asset and liability. Time will wear upon you to consider compromise; but time also works with the one who refuses anything less than justice—who stays the course late into the night and rises early to declare it—the one who patiently restores God’s ordained order: The heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord.

Amen.

Portions

October 10, 2010

Talent and creativity for design are God-given. As disciples we realize there is a corresponding mandate from Him to take the lead, train others, and multiply creative gifting in order to accomplish the full blessing intended. The door of God’s blessing is open to those with this creative endowment—it is their portion.

A “portion” is a prescribed task, prescribed portion, prescribed limit, an enactment, decree or ordinance, an action prescribed for oneself as in resolve; a specific decree or law in general, a condition or decree, a civil enactment prescribed by God – a statute, ordinance, limit, something prescribed, due. Strong’s Concordance

This is the land which you shall divide by lot as an inheritance among the tribes of Israel, and these are their portions,” says the Lord GOD. Ezekiel 48:29

Amen.

1 Samuel 17

October 9, 2010

Young David the shepherd would one day be king. He out-maneuvered situation and opponent, facing the lion and bear alone and developing skill with staff and sling. By the time Goliath stood before him, David’s confidence was in place and the appearance of a boy concealed the heart of a man, the judgment of a king. Facing threat, he was calculating. In verbal exchange, intimation did not bend him, nor did he go with the conventional wisdom. Saul’s armor was a joke as far as the good it could do young David—and judging from Saul’s leadership, it wasn’t doing him much good either. So the hard decision was made. For David it would be natural, and typical of his style. The battle changed even as his words commanded the outcome. Authority spoke, and destiny slipped into position as God’s man, David initiated. With his future on the line and isolated in the struggle, he invested his proven strength for the cause he valued highly. Human passion alone did not win though the script reads like a thriller. It was the Lord who battled and won, it was his man David who delivered the blow. Without the One, would we know the other? Without David, would the Lord have arrived—without the Lord would David have survived?

Then David said to the Philistine, ‘You come to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.’
(1 Samuel 17:45)

Amen.

Ordained Genius

October 8, 2010

In our day concentrations of fossil fuels, oil, minerals, precious metals and other naturally occurring treasures are extracted from deep below the earth’s surface by men, God’s chosen stewards of creation. Converging time and technology joined authority and ownership with desire, commitment, and patience to retrieve that which has been there all along, essentially hidden. The savvy of mankind, though obvious, is not the origin of such genius—God is. The essential element for this genius is the providential link between God and all mankind. Even those who do not presently know Him receive a portion, gain insight, and prosper from His design—a reference for the future time when they might turn and acknowledge His earlier benevolence, His faithful investment in their prosperity before their turning.

It is God who commands mankind in the first place. Through the instrument of His Word, hidden in the human condition, His wisdom is stored and comes forth in ordained timing, for His glory and ours.

“I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
That you may know that I, the LORD,
Who call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.” Isaiah 45:3 NKJV

Amen.
