Promotion

December 31, 2011

Biblically the Lord is overseer of human promotion on earth and the ambitions of men are weighed in light of a foundational design we find expressed in Abraham’s calling: In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed; and, in thee shall all nations be blessed.

If we look personally for a measure to evaluate 2011 and project for the year ahead, and if we desire increase in our field, the design used to establish Abraham and his descendants is the measure we should choose. Such is the calling for each of us; and such is the distinction that promotes or sidelines in Kingdom matters: In you all the nations shall be blessed.

Our world view must therefore line up with this measure. As ambassadors of His love we are positioned before the foundation of the worlds. There, in that field, we fill to the maximum and impact to the utmost every aspect of that placement—to the full extent of His intention: Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven!

Now prophesy, according to your faith, concerning promotion in that field and all that must take place there in the year 2012!

Amen.

Leaders, Rulers & Someone to Dream

December 30, 2011

Leadership usually involves some level of ruling and always includes the heart to dream. To lead is to go before, to rule or command, to have authority over; leaders may  rule as one with regal power such as a governor, viceroy, chief, commander; or one who leads has influence, oversees and controls counsel, and may lead in speech as a spokesman.

The heart that dreams possibilities for the future is gifted by God to those who lead; it is God who gives vision and dreams to inspire great leadership. If there is no leader with visionary passion and willingness to dream, or if leadership is weak or uninspired, one who has not been chosen, a usurper—the next available and strongest force—moves to fill the vacuum, breaking the strength and future of the whole.

Hesitation in making righteous decisions consistently opens wrong doors and sends a wrong message. Therefore, prayer-guided leadership is needed in every enterprise: the home, family, community, region and nation; in business, among professionals, in missions and in the Church.

The correct message is found in Matthew 8:8 and Luke 7:6 where the military leader understood the power of words spoken with authority. The visionary dreamer is in Acts 10:1-8, and rulers willing to command crisis for the deliverance of all in Acts 27:43-44.

For 2012, pray God will quicken mothers and fathers and all who lead and rule to set the pace and dream according to His plan.

That is the plan.

Amen.

Appointed Things

December 29, 2011

God appoints particular people for particular tasks, each gifted by the Lord for the assignment. And in the divine outworking God is both Giver of the gift and Governor of all that transpires; His governmental paths are peace and His blessing of peace joins each gift to certain paths where His government for specific life-assignments is established—and increasing!

Our part is to agree with His leading. When we do, divine government displaces worldly confusion with order, and the driving force of the world’s way of doing things with His peace. Best of all, His government over appointed things in our lives and the resulting fruit of peace are increasing—more order, more peace!

For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Of the increase of His government and peace
there shall be no end, to order it,
and to establish it with judgment and with justice…
The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Isaiah 9:6-7

The government of God is among us, to save us for He is mighty to save, as Lord of the Hosts He is Captain of heaven’s armies, and zealous to provide, He commands His government concerning us.

Hallelujah! That’s good!

Amen.

Bright Hope

December 28, 2011

On the night Jesus was betrayed He warned the disciples that one among the twelve would partner with the enemy and deliver Jesus to death. Judas, pretending innocence at the exposure, defiantly continued in the direction he had chosen, proceeding to betray Love in a conspiracy of murder.

Peter also, another of the twelve, contended with Jesus’ warning that he (Peter) would deny his relationship to the Master. Insulating himself from the charge, Peter claimed abhorrence at such wrong-doing and adamantly protested the prediction of his treachery, dismissive of Love who carried him.

Confronted by Jesus, Judas remained loyal to brutal plans; and, confronted by Jesus, Peter remained headstrong in self-righteousness—unmoved by the warning. Neither disciple actually heard Jesus and so ignored the voice that was calling them back from the precipice. As was the case that fateful night, deliverance always pivots on our willingness to hear the Lord and those He sends.

Deception works secretly in the heart until I am powerless to deliver myself. I remain blinded to my blindness, disbelieving of my heart’s capacity for error. To continue as I am may seem to cost nothing, but the enemy is patient and there are plans afoot—to trap, then kill precious vision, hope and dreams and to drain every ounce of joy from my life.

Watchers are needed; those who watch for and hold onto, who encourage strength but also confront, and not just once or sporadically but faithfully over time. It takes commitment to stand with someone until the Lord, by His Spirit, speaks and is heard and the root of what is not right is both revealed and acknowledged. Freedom’s reward is deliverance—freedom and bright hope! That’s the plan!

Amen.

Looking Forward to A New Beginning

December 27, 2011

The Book of Proverbs teaches wisdom and practical guidance, holy principles and godly fear of the Lord. It is a wisdom book—from God’s perspective the way life should be. One particular verse provides a great visual: the way something begins is the way it will grow and the way it grows predicts its potential to become:

– Train up a child in the way he should go [and in keeping with his individual gift or bent], and when he is old he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:5-7, AMP

– An old, non-biblical proverb expresses it this way: “As the twig is bent, so grows the tree.”

Parents: As a new year begins, go before the Lord to receive a word for each of your children. When it comes to bending the twig, the Word of the Lord is your authority!

Everyone: The Lord has fresh strategy for each person. He has prophecy for you—a declaration of His will. He has words of knowledge and words of wisdom for you—information you may not have otherwise. Pray in the Spirit and ask for the interpretation. He has promised to tell us “things to come.” Isaiah 45:11-12

Amen.

Whatever He Says to You, Do It!

December 26, 2011

Consider the present-day company that compares to those at Cana the day Jesus’ miracle ministry began; in the consideration we see modern examples of key players in the story. John 2

Mary, for example, was a catalyst. Her role set the stage when she spoke first to Jesus, then to the servants. Ultimately you could say Jesus followed her lead as did the servants Mary instructed simply “Whatever He says to you, do it.” Apparently she spoke with considerable authority or the servants would not have obeyed–the culture of that day did not grant authority to a woman. And for the servants’ part, had they refused Mary’s instruction could the miracle have taken place?

The lesson is obvious: Authority is discernible and produces visible fruit; authority speaks and someone responds accordingly. Rules, doctrine and cultures do not dictate Godly authority, at least not ultimately. God alone establishes authority through those He chooses.

The Lord inhabits the lives of those available for the mission. He stirs their heart for divine purpose and speaks clearly to and thru them. His leading is neither complicated nor mystical and an obedient response is simply to discern His Spirit and honestly witness to His Truth. Philippians 2:13

Whatever He says to you, do it!

Amen.

Gift Container

December 25, 2011

It’s Christmas . . . our Christ-Celebration!

To the One who thought it up and gave the very best gift, we offer hallel, our exuberant worship. We may grow beyond the childlike thrill of waking up to gifts on Christmas morning, or of family traditions and celebration, but we never get beyond the most basic realization: He came to die; a baby, God’s gift container in human flesh, came to give His life for my sin! O come, let us adore Him!

“Now the birth of Jesus Christ was as follows: After His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Spirit. Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly. But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins.” So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, “God with us.” Then Joseph, being aroused from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord commanded him and took to him his wife, and did not know her till she had brought forth her firstborn Son. And he called His name JESUS.” Matthew 1:18-25, NKJV

Joyfully, gratefully, we celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord.

O come to us, abide with us, our Lord, Emmanuel!

Amen.

A Word…

December 22, 2011

Understanding what must be done, we never give up, loose heart or delay moving toward God’s planned result—His prophesied outcome.

Every day, as much and as often as necessary, we apply the Word we have from the Lord like a sword in battle. Oppression works to wear down resolve, gain control and break our confidence in the test. Determined to believe, know and trust, we see with visionary eyes the contest ending in our favor—settled here on earth just like it is in Heaven! This is the Kingdom and the way we live.  From a core of strength we reach for all that’s promised. Graceful strength comes forth from us—that strength strengthens everyone and everything around us to recover all! Understanding the battle in the unseen realm we never give up, never lose heart and never stop short of God’s finale! He will do it and in the meantime He strengthens us. Strengthened, the battle that comes is the one we win. Prophetically, and by faith, it is well!

Hallelujah – amen!

Wonderful Season

December 21, 2011

Each Christmas season is precious. We embrace the giving and receiving of gifts and, even if a scrooge attitude surfaces here or there, for most the season’s warmth inspires special giving and motivates us to reach out to others.

For some friends, life is very different this year—a loss or struggle, or perhaps something unfair that cannot be restored in a natural sense. These are the friends we gather around, to support and comfort, and to remind that when the Lord allows a door to close He has alreadybegun to open another.

As covenant sons and daughters we remember Psalm 105: His judgments are working, bringing justice right into the center of our lives; He remembers His covenant forever and the word HE commands concerning us never stops!

To belong to the LORD and have His hand upon our lives is greater than sadness or disappointment; His presence in our lives is the highest condition and is the perspective we bring to the season. From our vantage point we take this opportune time to changeyesterday’s clothes for new ones; it is after all a time of new life—a birthing time!

Oh come; let us adore Him – Christ the LORD.

Amen!
