Compare Spiritual With Spiritual
“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.” (1 Corinthians 2:13-14)
Jesus’s disciples ministered with Him the day He fed over five thousand people, the day He blessed five loaves and two fishes, and miraculously, they had enough food to satisfy thousands of hungry people, plus some leftover. Obviously, for those present that day, the miracle was not the action they expected; in fact, the disciples favored sending the people away hungry. Before Jesus’s blessing opened the way for supernatural supply, their thoughts were far from a supernatural or miraculous solution.
Despite a ministry relationship with Jesus, the disciples struggled to believe; for them, spiritual understanding remained limited. Like them, we might hesitate when the Lord lays claim to something we cannot explain, something beyond human ability. But in every season of our spiritual journey, new revelation from the Lord provides an opportunity to experience more of God’s supernatural intervention in our lives. His miraculous power is supernatural—the more we agree with that power, the more of it we can experience.
As our Lord’s Kingdom advances in ways we haven’t begun to fathom, His power appears daily in miraculous and supernatural outcomes… to those willing to believe Him.
