Jesus made disciples—He made them. He taught and trained, then left them! The principle that He knew, and we have come to know is that the power of the Holy Spirit moves the student beyond the teacher. When humility is formed, and God’s voice is known, the Lord establishes disciples in every aspect of life.
A disciple is teachable (a learner), willing to grow (mature) into a lifestyle marked by courage and confident trust (decisiveness). Like soldiers trained for the contest, disciples face spiritual battles knowing what to do, with an intuitive grasp of how to do it. The bottom line is that a disciple’s focus is Kingdom building under the authority and direction of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord calls disciples of His to wisdom and by His Spirit gives them understanding of the times and spiritual knowledge of what to do. A disciple draws from the sum total of their acquired knowledge and experience to both meet and answer today’s challenge.
A disciple is ready.
Amen!
