“If you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! When you produce much fruit, you are my true disciples. This brings great glory to my Father.”  (John 15:7, NLT)

Some think relationship with the Lord is much like other relationship experiences, filtering everything, including the Lord and His working in their lives through the whole of life’s experience.

Human relationships, for example, have the potential to build confidence and provide emotional support, but when the outcome is disappointing, and disappointments are experienced again and again, the resulting negative pattern is discouraging. The result falls short of what was expected, and lives are diminished. And so, some might assume relationship with the Lord is the same.

Not so. By comparison, a relationship of trust in God is rewarded—again and again! He is consistently loving and forgiving. His grace flows into our lives, making genuine fellowship with Him possible, and He sends His Word to confirm the Spirit’s work to quicken and make real every promise of His. Relationship with Him grows as we remain in His Word.

Meditate there—one minute, two, or more—the keys you need are there in His Word. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.” God and His Word are one. Access to Him is achieved through His Word. Go there—every day!

And yes, you do have time.

Amen.
