“I will hear what God the Lord will speak, for He will speak peace to His people and to His saints; but let them not turn back to folly. Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land. Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed. Truth shall spring out of the earth, and righteousness shall look down from heaven. Yes, the Lord will give what is good; and our land will yield its increase. Righteousness will go before Him, and shall make His footsteps our pathway.”  (Psalms 85:8-13)

When mercy comes from heaven and men on earth respond with truth, in truth, we connect with our Lord. The fruit of that connection is righteousness; God’s righteousness takes over in the hearts of men. The resulting flow between God and man becomes a highway on which peace begins to rule in hearts and minds. When God, who is righteousness, looks down from heaven to a mirrored reflection of righteousness in His creation, a flood of His goodness is released, and the land naturally enters increase.

God speaks mercy, and His people reply with truth, producing righteousness. God’s reply to the righteousness springing up is more righteousness. Finding a righteous connection on earth, the Lord enters into the affairs of men, leading them in peaceful paths. The Lord is good, gives what is good, and intends increase for us. When we respond to His mercy in the present situation, we do not turn back to the folly (foolishness) of any other path.

Pray:

Father, your mercy has brought me through difficult seasons. I believe that my day of breakthrough has come. Your mercy is everlasting in its determination. Therefore, my prayer to You, Lord God of the universe, Author and Creator of all things, Maker of heaven and earth: Lord, open Your floodgates of that which is good; flood my life and my land with increase! In Jesus’s name.

Amen.
