Today at sundown begins Sukkot, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles for the New Year 5770; the celebration lasts through October 11. Consider the impact and prophetic entrance of this important season.
The fame of Solomon was no secret in his day and the amazing story of his wisdom and wealth has been relayed through the generations and is a well-know fact today. A queen from the land of Sheba, probably present-day Yemen, traveled the distance of 1200 miles to Jerusalem, probably caravan-style, to see for herself if the stories were true. Her reason then for coming is exactly the reason for Israel’s existence today—it’s why the Hebrews were planted in the Land at precisely the place where they were, and are.
Jewish Israel is placed strategically by the Lord Himself – for His Great Name’s sake. Situated at the crossroads of ancient trade routes, centered geographically since ancient times, Israel’s fame lies solely in the purposes of God: Men from every tribe and tongue passing through that land were to note a distinction concerning the name of the Lord and respond as did Sheba’s queen –”Blessed be the Lord your God!”
This is “the entrance” God gives to every servant of His. Those in governments and medicine, in markets and finance, in military and civic service, in education and agriculture—all are as Solomon and their nations as Israel. He calls them first to Himself, and then strategically places them at crossroads where civilizations and cultures connect, and on trade routes where economies are affected.
Prophetically, our futures are designed this way. Our purpose in God is the motivation for everything we do. His Great Name is our banner, our common bond. We establish the order of righteousness as we go – on every level, including the level of wealth and power. Everything is impacted concerning the name of Solomon’s Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. As was the case with the queen from Yemen-land, even the hard questions of men’s hearts are answered.
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:
Father, I pray for the peace of Jerusalem and for the expression of the wealth of your goodness to the entire world through her. Just as you have planted Israel for Your purposes, anoint me to impact the crossroads where You have placed me. Give me entrance into all that lies in my path, for Your Great Name’s sake!
