A Clear Trumpet

Daily Devotions

Scripture likens God’s voice to a trumpet, a clear and distinguishable sound. The message He intends is a clear trumpet. Our desire for the prophetic ministry of Shirley Weaver Ministries is to clearly speak the Lord’s message to our culture and world.

Judgement

When God speaks He is offering an opportunity to align with Him—the Bible defines this alignment as righteousness. When He speaks, impressing us through His Word, we should respond with a heart attitude that is teachable—able and willing to be taught, able and willing to learn. A willing heart and teachable spirit denote humility and humility is needed if we are to respond to His righteousness and the judgment that goes with it:

• judgment of blessing on the obedience side, and
• judgment (verdict) of something other than blessing due to disobedience

When the Lord speaks, actually both judgments unfold simultaneously. One is Light and abundant Life, the other a death struggle with emboldened darkness. Every word of God is perfectly pure and is perfect protection for the one obeying its impression, leading, direction, inspiration (Proverbs 30:5). Every word from God carries the potential to saturate us with Life and defeat the threat of death; with His Word we are able to judge ourselves, “The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether (Psalm 19:9).”

Pray… Father, I pray for personal purity, that I will hear You when You speak to me. I declare that I am increasingly able to hear you and obey; and that I am saturated with Light and Life and protected from darkness and death by your pure judgments. Holy Spirit, show me how to align with You – what to do, when, and how; believe that You reveal answers, strategies and plans to me in order to build the Kingdom of God in my life.

Amen.

Obedient Ear

Who can accurately measure the wealth that God conveys in sending truth-bearers to us?

Though confrontation means humiliation for the moment, the benefits are far greater. Getting seeds of destruction out ensures our future… knowing someone is watching for us affirms our unique, eternal value.

A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold
In settings of silver.
Like an earring of gold and an ornament of fine gold
Is a wise rebuker to an obedient ear.
Proverbs 25:11, 12, NKJV

A “wise rebuker” is sent to one who has an “obedient ear”. Throughout the book of Proverbs, wisdom is personified as a speaker, sent to stand in the center of things, calling out for those who have wisdom to follow the instruction of God who is wisdom. The nature of wisdom is instruction, affirming right choices and correcting crooked paths so that order is restored.

Perfectly matched to anything spoken in wisdom is the ear determined to hear. God releases His wisdom without delay and without limits so that wisdom’s wealth is then received on the hearing end through simplicity and humility. Included in God’s wisdom is the wisdom of rebuke—discerned by hearing hearts, determined to obey, possessors of wealth that cannot be measured.

Amen.

Awakened Hearts

In Song of Solomon we read, “I sleep but my heart is awake.” The idea is that God has ordered our lives in such a way that the longing of the heart just may advance in the night, making way for a fresh, new day. God has declared His mercies and compassions… “are new [start all over again] every morning.” Isaiah too, emphasized this truth: “With my soul I have desired You in the night. Yes, by my spirit within me I will seek you early.”

The benchmark for faith among God’s people for these end-times is peace of heart and mind. The night season and approach of a new day figure prominently into the continual establishment of peace, a treasure to be mined by those who understand the value: Aside from guarding the heart – watching over the thoughts and beliefs that develop in the heart – even though God’s provision for peace is there, it remains elusive. Such was the case with Job and the reason why the casual reader associates Job only with loss.

Every morning God punctuates the darkness by unfolding light, commanding the morning to take hold of the ends of the earth on behalf of those who are covenant-minded. God Himself has also determined that these covenant-minded ones be empowered with this same authority of command, entrusting them with a daily advance of that which He has placed, by faith, in the heart that is awake.

Amen.

Therefore …

My life is a gift—a vessel that carries that for which the Lord gave His own life.

For the one who does not know the Lord, a submitted life is nonsense and shallow, and the supreme thing for that individual is the right to himself. If sin means that I claim my right to myself, yet redemption is the miracle of the divine nature supernaturally placed inside me, I can boldly step out in faith with the Lord; or, if I am religious only, without a strong relationship with the Lord, then I submit in order to receive something: I arrive at work on time and receive orders from the one responsible for my financial reward for doing so, yet I hardly come to the place of acknowledging my need in the spiritual sense… in the true spiritual sense.

In Matthew 28:17-18 “all authority” is the subject issue; it is a distinctive for the believer. Jesus declared all authority in heaven and earth had been given to Him and that He “therefore” was sending disciples of His: We are sent—I am sent, you are sent.

And watch for this: The more of God’s authority demonstrated and the less fear of man is embraced, the degree to which confidence in His word permeates word and deed and therefore the level to which the Holy Spirit leads, so you will also be able to measure opposition from men. Such opposition is designed to break you. It’s the authority thing—God’s, not yours. You are wearing it. It is recognizable to those who want nothing to do with its source. You are the target they see. The flood is certain but you are a container ordained to carry His Presence right through. There is only a short time remaining before others will see what you have seen all along. Vindication.

Amen.

Ordained Genius

In our day concentrations of fossil fuels, oil, minerals, precious metals and other naturally occurring treasures are extracted from deep below the earth’s surface by men, God’s chosen stewards of His creation. Converging time and technology have joined authority and ownership with desire, commitment and patience to retrieve that which has been there all along, essentially hidden. The savvy of mankind, though obvious, is not the origination of such genius—God is.

The essentially providential element is the link between God and all mankind; even those who do not presently know Him as Lord, receive a portion, gain insight, and prosper from His design—possibly as reference for a future time when they might turn and acknowledge his earlier benevolence, a faithful investment in their lives and prosperity before their turning. It is God who commands mankind in the first place. Through the instrument of His Word, hidden in the human condition, His wisdom is stored for a day when it will come forth in ordained timing – for His glory and ours.

“I will give you the treasures of darkness
And hidden riches of secret places,
That you may know that I, the LORD,
Who call you by your name,
Am the God of Israel.”  (Isaiah 45:3 NKJV)

Amen.

Purity to Believe

To believe God is to believe it will be as He has said. The New Testament principle of believing God is based on a pure conscience, one undefiled by contradicting points of view.

I believe God fully when my conscience is not contaminated with details that contradict what I believe, in which case my belief proceeds from a pure heart. Contradicting points of view and opinions outside of God’s wisdom interrupt purity, the Bible virtue that positions me to believe God and guard my heart against accusations against Him, or my beliefs.

God has already released purity into our lives. Purity is what we want saturating our lifestyle and preferences, hearts uncluttered by add-on parts that do not dignify the objective. When our focus is the promise we have of Him, the mindset that will govern our lives will be poised confidence concerning Him.

Titus 1:15, 16 — To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled. They profess to know God, but in works they deny Him, being abominable, disobedient, and disqualified for every good work.

Amen.
