Christians pray above circumstances – above earthly powers and beyond the limits of mental and emotional involvement. When the Holy Spirit prays, He prays this way – through us!

— For you, O LORD, are the Most High over all the earth; you are exalted far above all gods. (Ps 97:9)
— I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, p ower and dominion, and every title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way. (Eph. 1:18-23, NKJV)

As we pray from this higher perspective we are empowered by the Holy Spirit who reveals facts we could not have known otherwise. Because He leads us, we pray cognitively as facts and details are revealed to us. The Holy Spirit prays this way – through us!

— Now Samuel did not yet know the Lord: The Word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him… The Lord continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word. (I Sam 3:7, 21)

—He (Jesus) said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus responded, “Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but My Father who is in heaven.” (Matt 16:15-17, NKJV)

Let’s pray:
Father, I believe spiritual knowledge is gained through Your Holy Spirit, through revelation as He reveals it—by the Spirit. Lord, I submit my life to You as a container of prayer—prayer that is revealed by You to build Your Kingdom on earth, and prayer that expresses unlimited knowledge in order to do so. Thank you for the sense knowledge I have through my five senses, and thank you for a higher perspective and for added knowledge to pray as the Spirit prays—according to the will of God.

As Christians we are marked to be like the Lord. Our purpose and motives, reflected in words and conduct, differ from the norm. As leaders of home and enterprise we have a different vantage point: Things we do not know experientially are none the less available to aid us, revealed by the One who knows all.

In addition, technology and the moderns have done us a favor. Transparency and new levels of access reveal things we could not have known otherwise, while the lightning pace of things provides sufficient pressure to test the very core of our foundational beliefs. Character on display is the test and we are being found out.

We have both the Lord’s leading and modern tools available to us and we are tested in the press as to the why and the what. Our response is with a different tack to the pace and agenda of conventional wisdom. Using the pressures we experience as a launch pad, we rise above circumstances and take the lead from the vantage point of our seat “in heavenly places.” Doing so, we are found out to be those who know God, who know the sound of His voice and who fully engage the day before us. Today we pass the stress test!

Thank God for the ministry of those ‘riding shotgun’ in the Body of Christ.

Intercessor-prophets ride ahead of, often beside God’s people – to guard that which is in transit. This ministry of the interceding prophet is the missing link in the new religious order of kinder, gentler leadership. Thankfully we are not part of that newly devised structure.

Start at the beginning and cut away dead things from yesterday. Start with what you have, primarily because you cannot start with what you don’t have.  Having started, embrace this valuable, wonderful ministry—the intercessor who often is also the prophet, and the prophet who is always intercessor! While you are in transit you are really going to need a prophet-intercessor ‘riding shotgun’ for, and with you!

• “So Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.” (Ezra 5:2 NKJV)

Watch what people offer to someone in trouble. Some will offer “things”, because things are where they themselves turn when their spirits are weighted. Some will offer criticism because they also condemn themselves under pressure, turning to additive behaviors to transfer misery out of their consciousness. Some will offer the past as an explanation for one’s present, primarily because they live in the past, rehearsing minute details of wrongs suffered and specific losses.

When all the time, what is needed is God’s Word, the only way to effectively respond to any trouble. So why is the Word not offered? Because they do not have it for themselves; they do not have God’s Word for themselves so they cannot offer it to others.

We cannot give what we do not have.

Amen.

Religious and philosophical streams share foundational principles of goodness, each relating to a given paradigm. The idea is to be good, on some level, for some cause; be it personally beneficial, for the benefit of the group, or to benefit the overall global community.

The principle is achievable because the idea is to be good for goodness sake–achievable for anyone with basic ideals like tolerance, pity for the less fortunate, and self-denial for the sake of the cause.

Christianity however does not teach, and the Bible does not reflect, the same mainstream of thought concerning the issue of goodness; rather, the strength of principle for Christians is first that God’s goodness is the platform for redemption (Romans 2:4), and is Christianity’s source of, and motivation for this fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22).

Almighty God does not base redemption upon the goodness of the man, but on HIS own goodness TO the man. He does not say to His people to be good for goodness sake; theirs is a higher calling. The principle for God and His people is that He is at work in each one. Their works are not for goodness alone, but as the natural extension of lives responding to His lead.
