A Clear Trumpet

Daily Devotions

Scripture likens God’s voice to a trumpet, a clear and distinguishable sound. The message He intends is a clear trumpet. Our desire for the prophetic ministry of Shirley Weaver Ministries is to clearly speak the Lord’s message to our culture and world.

Man the Deck!

Two things are important to my progress: First, that I have sufficient faith to continually see what is ahead based upon what God’s Word has to say concerning that; and second, that I have sufficient confidence in what I believe to stand no matter what storm I face.  To have one but not the other is to sideline my call to dominate in the spirit with prayer that leads to actions here on earth. Daily I demonstrate the Kingdom—on assignment from the One who is the Kingdom.

A mandate to influence others has been given to me. No question. That mandate stands or falls every day, depending on the two things mentioned—faith to believe and faith to stand. If I glance outside the  ark at rising waves, or grasp counsel from others as to what to do next, my hold may lessen; but with revelation of who I am, my purpose in God, and of His Word, the waves nor the crowd move me.

Faith is not belief, nor is it hope. Faith is revelation of the written Word, activated in my heart daily to build upon that which I hope for and reward what I believe. Faith does not move with the wind—on a whim or under threat; rather, faith is the real thing, operating above the storm with divine perspective from my seat in heavenly places—right beside the Lord.

What did the Lord say? Stay with that. Keep moving.

Amen.

Increase of His Government

Governmentally the Body of Messiah is measured according to our mandate to occupy until He comes, to do business until He comes (Lu 19:13). We realize the government and rule of God is meant not only for our good but for the benefit of all. We understand the worldview of His Kingdom and desire to accomplish our utmost for His highest. We understand what the will of the Lord is, know how to advance His will through prayer and righteous living, and live as those who know the reality: “The heavens belong to the Lord, but the earth He has given to men” (Ps 115:16).

We are blessing carriers, sum and substance of His presence on Earth, governed by Him as He governs through us. In this generation we have narrowed the distance between ignorance of the rule of God in our lives in a governmental sense, and a revelation of Isaiah’s announcement that the government rests upon His shoulder; and that increase of His government and peace shall have no end:

“For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder.  And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His Kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” Isaiah 9:6-7

Father, we ask today for Your government to advance in everything concerning us, and for Your government to go ahead of us. Cause high places to be humbled and bring the lowly to promotion. Lord, send Your government ahead of us, as the forerunner for us – crooked path, be straight: rough place, be smooth! (Is 40:4)

Amen.

Everything Else

Christianity’s responsibility is to represent the Lord and to prioritize His perspective over one’s own: In prayer, we seek and find Him… in His Word, we hear Him speak and decide to obey… in promptings of his Spirit, we are directed and re-directed as our Omnipotent Father oversees the ebb and flow of details in our lives.

Having sought and heard, having been prompted and directed, we obey the Lord. And with our obedience comes the assurance that all things are working together for the right outcome. No other chain of events can bring us to that conclusion; anything less is a failure on our end, not His. It takes as much faith to wait, as to forge ahead; our faith is qualified by sufficient faithfulness of heart to do it God’s way–all the time, every day, in every situation, public or private.

To the merciful person, God shows Himself to be merciful; to the innocent He IS innocence; to those who are pure, God reveals Himself in purity. But to the devious – the one who is sometimes faithful and sometimes master of His own way – God is found to be shrewd, seeing to it that what is sown is reaped, and that the undisciplined or careless receive a return of like kind.

The one who is faithful will pray, will do, will say, will go; our God who is faithful will see to everything else.

Amen.

Yield Sincerely

We experience times and seasons as the Lord orchestrates toward completion our lives and the individual mandate of purpose we carry. Knowing there is a specific time assigned to everything, we therefore better understand time’s value in the way we proceed.

The farmer’s example fits us perfectly since in addition to time’s application to every matter “under the sun,” there are also seasons in which certain events must take place before giving way to a subsequent time and future season.

When a farmer plows for planting, does he plow continually? Does he keep on breaking up and harrowing the soil? (Isaiah 28:24 NKJV)

In matters of prophetic consideration we especially regard both times – a particular period, and seasons – a period of particular activity. We know we are to discern by the Spirit of the Lord, making preparation in one while expecting harvest for the other.

Our lifespan is a season in itself and we live through times of shorter duration, no less critical to the cumulative and end result. For those who belong to the Lord, there is divine orchestration available for the process: Divine destiny is path-like, divine purpose hems-in, and divine calling protects as a governor. Our part is to refuse anything less, yielding to His Spirit in sincerity and not breaking rank in the procession like those sent forth from God.

Amen.

THIS Enemy

The enemy we battle attacks rightness — to discredit, re-arrange, and then present for public display, a disfigured version; something right, is deemed wrong. Misinformation, repeated often, re-creates the setting and re-invents the person as flawed, willfully corrupt, and not to be trusted. Viola! — deception at its peak: That which God called forth as good is now on display as despised; twisted voices tout a victory, the so-called good man is merely as we are, no better.

The LORD is our Father. As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities His children. He raises to prominence those who fearlessly and without reservation declare that which He has declared and pursue as He pursues; and also, angels are involved—at the sound of His Word they move in to accomplish His Word.

Amen.

The Same

In every situation establish what you believe, point by point. For any wrong belief found, discipline your heart according to what the LORD believes about that situation, even reciting it point by point as many times as necessary so the intellect is trained to cooperate—commanding the situation, knowing that your faith can never rise above your words; otherwise you start to lose altitude of spirit. Leaving the heights God intended for you, the view grows smaller and you even feel weak.

To fall to a lower place spiritually means our discernment to judge is affected; we lose heart and ultimately succumb to unnecessary anguish.

Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment (1 Corinthians 1:10, NKJV).

Today, we do not fall but rather draw strength from each other. The way we do that is to maintain “our own”, keeping our mind and judgment sharp, ready to speak our belief in agreement with the LORD, point by point; disciplined to speak, able to judge.

Nothing moves oppression, sickness, disease, or threat of any kind out faster than having the same mind and judgment as the Lord—speaking the same thing, speaking the Word. And nothing will change your situation for the better, and quicker – changing what threatens to discredit all you’ve worked for until now – than for you to say again what the LORD said to you originally. Stay with that. God is doing what you cannot.

Amen.
