“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” (Mark 16: 15-18, NKJV)
We can make something simple difficult. The message here is salvation, with peace that comes from within despite exterior turbulence, and joy that strengthens our relationship with the One who is the source of strength, Jesus Christ. The Lord said go. He said what to do and what result to expect. We can do as He said, avoiding religious spin that confuses what He said and why.
Our discipleship should be basic and practical, we should understand the mission. Jesus’ instruction is simple: Go! Make disciples. His words energize and inspire, His Spirit equips with no need for religious spin. Jesus said go and preach, baptize, cast out demons, speak with new tongues, walk in divine authority, lay hands on the sick and rejoice to see them recover! That’s the mission.
