Every day we make choices that ultimately lead us to important decisions. Confidence to make those in a timely way is important in business and family matters as well as matters of spiritual growth and moving forward with God’s leading.

Often, the obvious thing is to simply decide—make the decision that only you can make, even a difficult or unpopular call, and end the process of pouring over the details again and again. Bring everything to a conclusion. Now, move forward!

We all have to make important decisions in life, but those are more difficult for people whose habitual indecisiveness impairs their effectiveness. They struggle with making decisions, especially hard or emotional ones, because “making the call” means responsibility for both outcomes and consequences...it's theirdecision.

Indecisive people lack confidence to assume responsibility for their decisions.

The good news here is really good: where you are weak, the Lord wants to strengthen you. The Lord empowers decisive leadership in each of us. As stewards of God-given authority, He trusts each one to decisively lead in all kinds of situations. Don’t focus on negatives; instead, realize that difficult results will lessen while you move forward. You can do it!

So, no more fence-riding. It’s settled. Keep moving. Don’t look back. Confident follow-through minimizes the domino effect of related problems, possibly avoiding them altogether. Besides, those problems are not as visible as they will be if you choose to delay. Negatives are less when you enforce your decisive, God-given authority.

Others cannot do their part until you do yours.

Amen.
