The judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.”  (Psalm 19:9)

When the Lord speaks, impressing us through His written and revealed Word, we should respond to Him as teachable—able and willing to be taught, able, and willing to learnA willing heart and teachable spirit denote humility, and humility is what we must have to respond to judgment included in any word from the Lord: Either we are judged “blessed,” on the obedience side, or we receive the judgment (rule, verdict) of something other than blessed, a result of something other than obedience.

Which way will it be? What is our alignment? Alignment relates to righteousness, which makes sense considering the knocks and bumps we experience, thinking we can continue in our own routine and without proper alignment with the Lord. So, when God speaks, the Word of the Lord offers us a fresh opportunity to align with Him. Something else takes over if we choose our own way. The Lord is on the side of blessing, and He extends a grand invitation to join Him there.

The Lord speaks, and both “judgments” appear, simultaneously. One is light and abundant life, the other a death struggle with emboldened darkness. Every word from God is perfectly pure and is perfect protection for the one responding to its impressions, leading, direction, and inspiration. Every word from God carries the potential to saturate Life and defeat death. It is the way we are to judge ourselves.

Amen.
