When circumstances press you, the response you have reveals your core beliefs, about the foundation of faith you have already established. The more impossible the issue, the more necessary it is to be established and to have revelation of what you truly believe.
“If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11:3, KJV)
“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NLT)
“And this is the message [the message of promise] which we have heard from Him and now are reporting to you: God is Light, and there is no darkness in him at all [no, not in any way].” (1 John 1:5, AMP)
In pressing circumstances, the next thing we do is predictable, based upon the way we think and respond under normal circumstances. Habitual attitudes, good or bad, produce predictable responses.
If, for example, divine government is not part of our routine under calmer, more normal circumstances, then when pushed or pressured beyond the norm, our response will be along the same line, only magnified by the increased level of difficulty we face.
Concerning Israel and the Church, the Spirit of the Lord stands up… to raise foundations with supernatural proofs of the real thing. If belief and deep revelation of belief are lacking, then predictably, we blend in rather well with those unaccustomed to divine intervention; but if what we’ve been through has proven us, we shine brilliantly—out in the open, on display.
Check your foundation.
Amen.
