“You will always harvest what you plant.” (Galatians 6:7, NLT)

The principle of seedtime and harvest explains that my life today stems from yesterday’s seed, and because today I am a composite of yesterday’s thoughts and actions, I see within my own heart, as David saw in his heart, the fruit available for harvest in my life. 

Rewards are a kind of fruit, connecting earlier fruit-producing actions to the reward… to a harvest. When I understand how my actions connect my life to the reward of those actions, and I know the source of those rewards, I discover a great deal about my own heart and spirit. 

Since actions often “speak louder than words” and reveal where my heart is invested, my actions help me to discern: Today’s fruit proceeds from the depths of my heart, exposing the source-seed of yesterday’s thoughts and actions. We will always harvest what we plant.
